Example Achievement Log for a Sales Advisor
This Sales Advisor's log tracks a year of consistent pipeline growth, a couple of difficult customer situations navigated well, and the skills built stepping into a junior mentoring role. You'll see how specific numbers and named moments make the difference when review time arrives.
A year in the life of a Sales Advisor's log
- Jan - task: Started Q1 with Travelodge hotel group account in red. They'd flagged our onboarding process as slow. Set up weekly check-ins instead of the standing monthly to rebuild confidence.
- Feb - achievement: Travelodge moved three additional properties into our service after the faster response setup. Revenue lift was 18k for the quarter. Their ops manager Sarah mentioned it in the group call.
- Feb - feedback: Marcus (team lead) pulled me aside after pipeline review: 'You're reading the forecast more carefully than most. Caught that Westfield deal had slipped and flagged it before we'd have missed it.' That mattered.
- Apr - task: Picked up mentoring two new Sales Advisors on the Hospitality vertical. They were dropped in with zero context. Built a one-pager on our three main customer pain points and sat with them on live calls.
- May - achievement: Won the Midlands Travelodge cluster deal, 47k ARR. Six-month sales cycle. Built the business case around their property manager turnover problem, not just our feature list.
- May - feedback: One of the new advisors I've been coaching, Jade, closed her first deal alone. She said afterwards, 'The pain-point framework you taught me actually worked.' Small win but it felt real.
- Jul - task: Dealt with the Mayfair Premier Hotel churn threat. Customer unhappy with support response times. Escalated to our ops head and attended their review call to own the conversation. They stayed.
- Aug - achievement: Pipeline forecast for Q4 is 156k, up from 94k at the same point last year. Mix of upsells (Travelodge sites, Mayfair renewals) and two new property management groups.
- Oct - task: Attempted to close Greenwich Suites in September, deal fell apart over contract terms. Had to walk. Learned I'd undersold the value before pricing came up. Reset expectations earlier next time.
- Nov - achievement: Closed two renewal deals (Travelodge group, Mayfair) plus expanded Westfield contract by one location. Nov revenue 52k. Retention rate on my book is now 96 percent.
- Dec - feedback: Performance review with Marcus: 'Your pipeline hygiene is disciplined now. You're also the person newer advisors ask for help, which is exactly what we need.' Asked me to keep doing both.
What makes a strong entry
What most people write: Improved customer service for Travelodge account.
What went in the log: Travelodge hotel group account in red. They'd flagged our onboarding process as slow. Set up weekly check-ins instead of the standing monthly to rebuild confidence.
The strong version names the specific customer, the actual problem they raised, and the concrete change made, so the reviewer can see it wasn't generic 'service improvement' but a deliberate response to real feedback.
What most people write: Won a large deal through relationship building.
What went in the log: Won the Midlands Travelodge cluster deal, 47k ARR. Six-month sales cycle. Built the business case around their property manager turnover problem, not just our feature list.
Numbers (47k, six months) and the strategic insight (pain-point-led pitch rather than feature-led) prove the win was earned through deliberate method, not luck, and shows the approach that could be taught to others.
How this becomes your review in November
This year I grew the pipeline from 94k to 156k by focusing on customer pain points rather than feature lists, which showed in wins like the 47k Midlands Travelodge deal and the recovery of the Travelodge group account from red status. I've kept retention discipline tight, closing the year at 96 percent on my book and handling the Mayfair Premier churn threat with a direct escalation that kept them. Beyond my own targets, I've become the go-to for coaching new Sales Advisors on the Hospitality vertical, and Marcus has asked me to keep developing that work alongside the pipeline.
